Located in a 17th century mansion, the first site of the National Museum of Marine in Rochefort opens its doors for us to introduce two recently renovated rooms: The Arsenal of Rochefort and La Dedaigneuse ('the disdainful'), a frigate of 12 built in Bordeaux in 1766, 'sister ship' of Hermione.The second site is located in the former School of Naval Medicine.
There is a case of surgeon on board and many collections dedicated to the teaching.
