Description:

The museum of the santons is located in the Castle of Aumerade, also a castle for the wine, where the tour of the winery with tasting is also possible.

A collection of more than 1,800 figurines is brought to you by Henri Fabre and his family, owners of the castle.
You will see there figurines dating from the 18th century and original nurseries brought from all over the world.

The reconstruction of a village with all these little clay figurines will amaze you.

Planning:

The Santon Museum is open from Monday to Saturday from 08:00 to 12:00 and from 13:30 to 17:30 (from 14:00 to 18:00 in July and August).
It is closed during bank holidays.
The tour is done by appointment. Disclaimer : The management team of the destination has the possibility to change the opening days and hours without prior communication.

Comments:

The castle, with its museum and its cellars, will interest you with its history:
wine appeared in the castle in the first century after Christ, that is to say 2000 years ago, saw the king Henri 4, is the location where the first mulberry was put in France and was recognized by King Louis-Philippe.

Pierrefeu is at a few kilometers at the North of Hyeres on the road D12.
The castle of Aumerade is located at the North, outside the village, on the road to Puget Ville, at the East of Cuers.
By the motorway you can reach the castle by taking the exit « Cuers-nord » on the A57, between Le Luc and Toulon.
The A57 is accessible at Le Luc via the A8.
