Description:

When you cross the Lot region, take the steam train at Martel and fly at 80 meters high over the beautiful Dordogne valley, passing under a number of tunnels (5) and on a viaduct.

The trip is 13 km long (round trip).

2 trains are kept in working order: a diesel train and a steam train. Depending on the days and times you will be able to get into one or the other.

Planning:

Both trains travel all along the valley of the Dordogne for 1 hour according to the following schedule:
Diesel Train:
- In April, May & June: On Tuesdays and Thursdays at 14:30
- From July the 1st to the 14th: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays at 11:00, 14:30 and 16:00, and on Saturday at 14:30,
- From July the 15th to August the 30th: on Fridays at 11:00, 14:30 and 16:00, and on Saturdays at 14:30
- In September, on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 14:30.

Steam Train:
- In April, May & June: on Sundays and bank holidays at 11:00, 14:30 and 16:00,
- From July the 1st to the 14th: on Wednesdays, Sundays and bank holidays at 11.00, 14.30 and 16.00,
- From July the 15th to August the 30th: from Monday to Thursday, on Sundays and bank holidays at 11.00, 14.30 and 16:00
- In September, on Sundays and bank holidays at 11:00, 14:30 and 16:00.
This schedule may be modified for technical reasons or beacuse of the weather.
Special trains can be organized for groups. Disclaimer : The management team of the destination has the possibility to change the opening days and hours without prior communication.

Comments:

The non profit association CFTHQ brings together over 200 fans and aims to safeguard and operate the line that goes from Martel to Saint-Denis-les-Martel.

This association maintains machines and line (8 km) using the price of the tickets sold (48,000 in 2008), sales of souvenirs, and local grants.

This line is called 'Trouffadou' because it allowed to route the truffles in one of the largest markets in France for many years.

Accesses and trains are equipped for disable guests.

The nearest highway is the A20 (exit 55).
