From December the 28th to January the 12th
The Quadrantids are one of the most beautiful swarm of meteorites of the year.



The shooting stars of this swarm are visible from the 28t of December to the 12th of January.
The maximum of intensity is on the 4th of January.

Observation will take place after midnight when the radiant Quadrantid approach the zenith.

For those who want to get into photography, it is necessary to move away from sources of light pollution.
It is true that light pollution can interfere with the Paris up more than 200 km apart, but not for this type of photography!

The address is original: the Quadrantid radiant lies in the circumpolar constellations that are Bootes, Ursa Major, Ursa Minor and Draco.

At midnight, the swarm of the shooting stars is in the east at about 30° above the horizon, with a magnitude of 2 and a retraction speed in the atmosphere that is about 40km/s.
