The Museum is located in Fort Matra. It presents the items that were discovered during excavations of the Colony and ancient cemeteries: - On the first floor, several showrooms explain 15 centuries of Aleria and Corsica history, from prehistory to the end of the Roman Empire.
The displayed collections bring a very important knowledge at the archaeological point of view, not only for the understanding of prehistoric and ancient Corsica, but also of the Mediterranean basin civilizations.

Visiting the museum and the site takes about 1h30. Aleria Museum is open to the public from May the 16th to September the 30th from 8:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 19:00. It is also open from October the 1st to May the 15th from 8:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00.
