Description:

The Biopark Zoo of Doue la Fontaine shows many animals and emphasizes its Projects about the Nature, with concrete preservation of endangered species.

Among the inhabitants of the zoo, you'll meet:
- 66 threatened species
- Brown bears,
- Giant Otters,
- Many monkeys
- Many species of felines, each more beautiful than the others,
- Hippopotamus,
- Rhinoceros
- Penguins,
- Zebras and Giraffes,
- Beautiful birds

The curious visitors will appreciate the information on the plants that embellish various parts of the park.

Planning:

Two hours to half a day allow you to have a very interesting view of the zoo.

It is open all year on:
- February & March: from 10:00 to 18:30
- April to June: from 9:00 to 19:00,
- July & August: from 9:00 to 19:30,
- September: from 9:00 to 19:00,
- October: 10.00 to 18.30,
- November to January: annual closure Disclaimer : The management team of the destination has the possibility to change the opening days and hours without prior communication.

Comments:

The Projects about the Nature are designed to contribute to the preservation of several species in extreme danger of extinction, such as the Giraffe of Niger (there are only 170 left), black rhino (there are only 3725 left) and Sumatran tiger (there are only 350 left).
Actually, the zoo financially participates to 25 projects of this type in the world and accepts donations for these preservative actions (details are given in the official site of the zoo, accessible at the bottom of page).

Pets are not allowed in the zoo.

The zoo shows all summer long with its Projects about the Nature some local artisans and sculptors.
