The great success of the European Heritage Days is due to the important diversity of patrimonium opened to the visits : in parallel of the main buildings related to the religions or to the civil life of the countries, the testimonies of the industrial or agricultural activities, parks & gardens, archaeological sites, furnitures, literary or military heritages…

Created in 1984 by the French Ministry of Culture, the European Heritage Days take place each year during the third week-end of September.

Since 1991, European Heritage Days have taken a european dimension. Helped by the European Counsil and by the European Union, 50 countries are now involved in this event.
