Lacave Caves

The caves of Lacave open you their 12 rooms.
The access is done by an underground electric train, which takes you to the entrance hall at the bottom of an elevator.
It will take you until the room of the chaos.
From there, you will be able to visit the following rooms:
- The Hall of the Virgin,
- The one of the Palm,
- Of the bell tower,
- Of the three Parks,
- Of the Dierges,
- Of the Tarascan with its lake,
- Of the lighthouse,
- Of the great dome,
- Of the leg of spider,
- Of the mirages,
- Of the black light.


The tour takes 1h20mn.

The caves are open according to the following schedule:
- From March the 15th to the 31st: from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00,
- From April to June : from 9:30 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:30,
- In July: from 9:30 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 18:00,
- From August the 1st to the 25th: from 9:30 to 18:00,
- From August the 16th to September the 30th: from 9:30 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:30,
- From October to the end of All Saints hollidays: from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 12:00 to 17:00. Disclaimer : The management team of the destination has the possibility to change the opening days and hours without prior communication.


Facilities around the caves are many: free parking for cars and buses, a restaurant-bar, a video room, a picnic area and a shop are present.
It is possible to take pictures in the caves.
Plan to wear something warm, it can do pretty cool in the caves.

Pets are not allowed in the caves.
The visit is guided.

The caves are not accessible to disable persons.


Grottes de Lacave, 46200 Lacave

The village of Lacave is located near Rocamadour, direction to Souillac from Rocamadour.

From Brive-la-Gaillarde (located 50 km away from the caves), take the highway A20 and take the exit of Sarlat-Souillac (exit 55).
From there, take the road D703 on 4 km, then the D43 on 8 km and at last the D23 on less than 2 km.
