Description:

Discover how people communication has progressed over two last thousand years.
Gallo-Roman letters, then the use of messengers in the Middle Ages with the birth of the Post Mail.
Later on has appeared the post offices and the stamps.
Then the telegraph has speeded up the communications and has reduced distances.
At last has appeared the phone, invented by Bell in 1876, before internet communication.

Planning:

An hour and half allow you to see the main exhibitions of the museum.

It is open from April the 1st to November the 2nd, and from November the 29th to December the 14th except on Mondays. Disclaimer : The management team of the destination has the possibility to change the opening days and hours without prior communication.

Comments:

Permanent exhibits include:
- the carriages used to carry the mails
- 2000 years history of Post and Telecommunications in Alsace

Temporary exhibitions are shown, such as the one dedicated to Paul Kauffmann in 2008, the illustrator of the Alsacian life between the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.
