Description:

The museum aims to explain and to show how looked like the world of prehistory in the Ile de France region.
Located in a very rich region with prehistoric sites, close to the Paleolithic sites of Nemours that are the Gros-Monts Beauregard and the Cirque de la Patrie, the museum is in the heart of its scientific domain.

It is organized into the following topics:
- Reconstruction of an excavation
- Early and Middle Paleolithic ages
- Recent Paleolithique
- The reindeer hunters in Pincevent (Montereau-Fault-Yvonne); widescreen movie
-Mesolithic
- Neolithic
- Iron Age

Planning:

Two hours allow you to to get a much better idea of prehistory.

A picnic area is at 500m from the museum in the forest of Poligny. The museum is open every day except on Wednesdays, an on 01/01, 05/01, 05/08, on Ascension Day, on 07/14, 08/15, 11/01, 11/11, 12/25.

The museum is accessible to disable persons. Disclaimer : The management team of the destination has the possibility to change the opening days and hours without prior communication.

Comments:

In the region where the museum is located have been identified many polishers, roughly twenty menhirs and some dolmens.

The museum is located on the Mount Les Rochers Verts at the edge of Nanteau Forest.
By car: take RN 7, then the highway A6
By train & bus: from Paris go to the Gare de Lyon; the urban transportation do the shuttle between the station & the museum every day except on Sunday.
