Description:

The museum is located at the bottom of the rock of Solutre, exceptional place, and presents objects from a prehistoric site among the richest ones in France.
This location has been a favorite spot for hunting horses and reindeers for more than 25,000 years, from 35,000 to 10,000 BC

Planning:

From January to November: open every day.
Closed in December, on January the 1st and on May the 1st. Disclaimer : The management team of the destination has the possibility to change the opening days and hours without prior communication.

Comments:

The exhibitions are conducted on four areas:
- Overview of prehistory, with its chronology, climate, vegetation, wildlife, and techniques of flint knapping
- Discovery of Solutre
- Presentation of the art of Solutre (paintings, sculptures)
- Temporary exhibitions with a new topic each year
