Comments:

Located in one of the most beautiful villages of France, the Interpretation Center shows the discoveries with a modern perspective, and is divided into two parts.
The first one presents a multimedia show where, on a reproduction of the cave and its sculptures, the images are displayed.
The storytellers that you will hear will send you 15,000 years in the past.
Then, when you leave the dark room and the echoes of drums behind you, you contemplate the sculptures overlooking the beautiful valley of the river the Anglin.

The original frieze is located 1.5 km from the center of Interpretation Center and is not open to the visits (for preservation purpose).

The guided tour is excellent and you will understand how our ancestors have used many times the same drawings, to erase the frescoes and evolve them according to their customs and time.
So, you will see how a buffalo became an ibex through the state of a horse!
Three words only describe this place: beautiful, exciting, impressive.

After having visited the interpretive center, you will be able to enjoy the village ... so charming!
If you want to eat (lunch or dinner) in the good restaurant the 'Lion d'Or', you better book in advance.

On January the 12th, 2015, the Community Council of Val de Gartempe decided to stop operating the Interpretation Centre of The-Wizards-Roc of Angles-sur-Anglin.
A collective support was formed on Facebook and a petition was launched to "commit to support culture in rural areas by enabling structures that act everyday, run and support against short-term political and economic rationalization of culture."
Genius Tour partnered to communicate the link to reach the collective support. Thanks to many initiatives and the 2250 signatures, on July the 15th, 2016, the Center reopened with a 25 years authorization.
