The mining museum tells the history of the exploitation of uranium in France from 1948 until today.

You will discover :
- The history of Uranium through the 3D movie "Once upon a time uranium"
- Dive into the Bowels of Earth, by visiting the reproduction of an underground site in used between 1950 and 1970,
- Explore present day uranium, addressing the very current themes of its operations and its future challenges,
- Broaden your scientific knowledge, with the exhibition "The Knowledge Core",
- Marvel of the Machine Park, a collection of old mining machinery fully overhauled,
,- Old Reinstated sites, during guided tours "Panoramine" (for groups of at least 10 persons, by appointment and with supplement at the entrance.

To reach the museum, from the highway A20, take the exit 24 then follow the signs for "Musee de la mine".

Ureka is at 20 minutes from Limoges (take the A20 to the North from Limoges), at 40mn from Gueret (via the RN145 towards the West), at 50mn from Chateauroux (from Chateauroux take to the South) and at 1h10m away from Brive-la-Gaillarde (take to the North to reach the museum).
