The castle hasbeen built in the 12th century by the barons of Murol at the crossroad of Besse, Clermont-Ferrand Saint-Nectaire. William II of Murol has built the fortress by the end of the 14th century and The Familly d'Estaing has built the Renaissance Pavilion at the end of the 16th century. The castle of Murol is managed by an association from 1986 and major renovation works have been done in 1998. |
