Solar Wind


The solar wind is created from the emission of the particles from a star. They are mainly elementary particles (photons, electrons, hydrogen atoms, …) sent in the space per the constant nuclear reactions that occur at the surface of the star.
The solar wind is responsible of the creation of the comet queues.
It is sometimes stronger when a solar protuberance happens. Magnetic storms appear then and create aurora, borealis or australis, depending where they are, either in the north or in the south hemisphere.
These aurora are created in the poles because they are the regions where the Van Allen belts that protect the Earth against the cosmic rays are the weakests.
